Edmundston Brigade

The Edmundston brigade, founded in 1905, was comprised of 12 volunteer firefighters.  At that time, it was the only brigade to serve the city, the nearby communities and even regions as far as Sainte-Rose du Dégelis and Cabano in Quebec and Madawaska, Maine.  Over the years, the brigade became a municipal service and permanent firemen and officers were added to the volunteers who then became auxiliary.  The service is currently comprised of a Chief, Assistant Chief, four lieutenants, four permanent firefighters and more than 16 auxiliary firemen.
