When moving, when should we notify the electric utilities?
The sooner the better.
When moving, what are the setup fees?
For electricity :
If you are a new customer, the fee is $40.47 + G.S.T. plus 2 months equivalent electric bills. (Unless proof of good credit with another power company is given)
For Water and Sewage :
The cost of $100 is required for starting the service
What method of payments do you offer?
We offer two methods of payments; Authorised and equal payments. Edmundston Energy offers its clients the ability to opt for the equal payments method. This allows the cost of electricity to be divided into 12 equal monthly payments based on the energy consumption of the dwelling. The period for the program is from June of the current year to May of the next.
When are the residential readings taken?
The reading of the residential, commercial and institutional meters is done each month, regardless of the payment method chosen. Water meters are read every three months.
Who qualifies for a reduced rate for Water and Sewage?
A 10% discount is given to seniors aged 65 yrs and older. Proof of age along with property ownership must be presented.
A 5% discount is given to citizens who are billed at fixed rates if the bill is payed for the current year in January.
